INTRODUCTION AND USER GUIDE

This table has been prepared to facilitate the selection of the right materials when working with aggressive chemicals. It helps you determine the appropriate resin, plastic, and metal material combinations for Polres Polyester products.

Chemical resistance is affected by many factors, such as temperature, concentration, exposure time, and mechanical load. Therefore, the information provided in the table is a general guide and is not valid for all working conditions.

IMPORTANT WARNING:

For critical applications, testing samples under actual working conditions is strongly recommended. Polres Polyester accepts no responsibility for any problems arising from the use of the information in this table. Technical data is subject to change without prior notice.

Limited Durability
Depends on concentration, temperature, and time.

The material is seriously affected by chemicals.

MATERIAL GUIDE

UP-General (General Purpose Polyester) Economical, suitable for general applications. Limited resistance to acids and solvents. Operates at room temperature.

UP-Izo (IsophthalicPolyester) Better chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance compared to general polyester. Ideal for water tanks and boat applications.

VE (Vinyl Ester) Superior chemical and corrosion resistance. Ideal for acids, alkalis, and bleaches. Used in chemical tanks and flue gas treatment systems.

Epoxy Excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance. Particularly resistant to solvents. Preferred for adhesive and coating applications.

PP (Polypropylene) Good chemical resistance, low cost. May deform at high temperatures (80°C+). Resistant to acids and bases, sensitive to solvents.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) Good resistance to acids and bases. Sensitive to solvents. Can be used up to 60°C. Suitable for pipe and tank applications.

PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) Excellent chemical resistance and high temperature tolerance (up to 150°C). Ideal for applications requiring high purity.

PTFE (Teflon) Resistant to almost all chemicals. Highest performance. Can be used up to 260°C. For highly aggressive environments.

SS 316 (Stainless Steel) Good corrosion resistance. Preferred over 304 in seawater and chlorinated environments. Suitable for chemical tanks and valves.

SS 304 (Stainless Steel) General-purpose stainless steel. May corrode in acidic environments (HCl, H₂SO₄) and chlorinated environments.

TEMPERATURE EFFECT

All data in the table is for 20-25°C (room temperature). Chemical resistance decreases as temperature increases:

30-40°C: Slight decrease in strength
40-60°C: Significant decrease, drop to "Limited Resistance" level
60-80°C: Risky zone for most materials
>80°C: Only high-performance materials such as PVDF, PTFE, and PEEK

EXAMPLE: A material that is "Durable" (+) at 20°C may drop to the "Limited Durability" (O) level at 50°C.
